According to the Surgeon General’s Report of 1999, nearly 14 million children – one in five—have a diagnosable mental disorder.

Unfortunately, most of these children receive no care.

The Spokane community is attempting to address this issue by implementing the Child and Adolescent Initiative. Sponsored by Spokane County Community Services and the RSN, this initiative is aimed at creating a proposal for a system of care for children and adolescents that is outcomes driven.  Focusing initially on the Medicaid system, the goal of this initiative is to examine and identify various ways to provide mental health services to all children and adolescents in our community.
